Students of Sirajganj Maulana Bhashani Degree College have formed a human chain demanding the hanging of Utsav Kumar Kundu, the main accused in the murder case of Supriti Sutradhar, a meritorious second-year H.S.C. student, and his elder brother Sushant Kundu Shanta.
On Sunday (February 9) at 12:30 pm, in front of Bhashani College, Sirajganj Mujir Road, H. S. C second year student Alif led a speech, and students of this college, Sumana, Swadhin, Jihad, Alif, Swarna, Nirjana, Symphony, Shakib Ahmed, Mou, Nirab, gave speeches.
Speakers at the human chain said, Supriti Sutradhar was a brilliant student. She died prematurely due to torture by her cheating lover Utsav Kumar Kundu. This death is unacceptable. We are demanding exemplary punishment for the killers so that no one else will face such a tragedy.
Babul Kumar Sutradhar, father of Supriti Sutradhar, complained in the human chain and said, "It is not desirable that some leaders of our unscrupulous traditional religion are trying to divert the report of the murder case to other sectors. We want a fair and just trial from the administration."
Earlier, late on Tuesday night, college student Supriti Sutradhar committed suicide at the home of Gopal Kundu on Siraji Road in Muktar Para, Sirajganj Municipality, at the instigation of her boyfriend Utsab Kumar Kundu and her elder brother Sushant Kundu Shant. On the day of the incident, the police arrested her boyfriend Utsab Kumar Kundu, but the other accused Sushant Kundu is threatening Supriti Sutradhar's family to withdraw the case by exerting influence as he did not arrest Shant.
Other students and journalists from Sirajganj Maulana Bhashani Degree College were present at the human chain.
