An egg vendor named Golai Molla (50) has died after falling into the Jamuna River from Paturia No. 4 ferry ghat in Manikganj.
A local fire service diving team recovered his body from the river after a nearly hour-long search.
According to local Paturia Naval Fire Service sources, a person suddenly fell into the river from the pontoon of Paturia Ferry Ghat No. 4 on Thursday afternoon and drowned. Upon receiving the information, a diving team of the Fire Service quickly participated in the rescue operation. The body of the missing person was recovered about an hour later. The deceased Golai Molla's home is in the Goalanda Ferry Ghat No. 7 area of Rajbari district. His family said that he had been suffering from epilepsy for a long time.
