Ujirpur Correspondent: 35 calves have been distributed among registered fishermen in Ujirpur, Barisal district, for the purpose of alternative employment.
On Thursday, February 6, at 11 am, Upazila Executive Officer Md. Ali Shuja inaugurated the distribution of 35 calves and cows among the fishermen registered under the Native Species Fish and Snail Conservation and Development Project in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, organized by the Upazila Fisheries Officer's office in front of the Upazila Parishad building.
Under the overall supervision of the Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Jamal Hossain, who was given additional responsibility, Uzirpur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Abdus Salam, Upazila Youth Development Officer Mosammat Asma Begum, Upazila Marine Fisheries Officer Mahbubur Rahman, Field Assistant of the Fisheries Office Bikash Kumar Nag, Joint General Secretary of the Uzirpur Journalists Union Md. Nazmul Haque Munna, along with various officials and fishermen's families, were present at the event, among others.
