Jhalakathi Correspondent: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has taken out a procession in Jhalakathi demanding stable prices during Ramadan and welcoming Ramadan. The procession started from the city's Fire Service intersection at 5 pm on Friday and ended at the same place after circumambulating the main and important roads of the district town.
The event was led by the organization's district secretary, Principal Faridul Haque. Sheikh Neyamul Karim, a former central student leader and nominee for Jamaat-e-Islami's Jhalokati-02 (Sadar-Nalchiti) constituency, was the chief guest.
Among others present were Maulana Moniruzzaman, Ameer of the Municipal Jamaat,
Municipal Joint Editor Saiful Islam Babu,
Sadar Upazila Ameer Maulana Moniruzzaman Talukder, Joint Secretary Maulana Kawsar Hossain, District Secretary of Chhatra Shibir Enamul Hasan and other leaders from various levels were present. During this time, they urged the government to keep hotels and restaurants closed to protect the sanctity of Ramadan, keep the prices of daily necessities within affordable prices, and create a conducive environment for fasting during Ramadan.
Jamaat-e-Islami also held similar events in Nalchiti, Rajapur and Kathalia.
