National team cricketer Mrityunjay's unbeaten batting performance has helped Tufan Sporting Club become the undefeated champions of the DC Cup. They defeated Ganamukhi Sangha by 7 wickets.
The final match of the Deputy Commissioner's Cup T20 Cricket Tournament 2025 was held between Tufan Sporting Club and Ganamukhi Sangha at Satkhira Stadium on Friday (February 28) morning.
Toofan Sporting Club opened the batting with Ashiq and Tanvir to win the target of 127 runs. For Toofan, the national team cricketer Mrityunjay's unbeaten batting performance helped them reach the victory with 4 balls remaining in the stipulated 20 overs. National cricketer Mrityunjay scored the highest score of 47* (22). As a result, Toofan Sporting Club won by 7 wickets and became the unbeaten champion.
Earlier in the morning, Tufan Sporting Club captain Ark won the toss and decided to field first. Putting in to bat, Ganamukhi Sangha captain Ripon put in Topu and Shahajan to open the innings. Ganamukhi Sangha scored 126 runs after losing all their wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Murad took 4 wickets for Tufan Sporting.
Later, Deputy Commissioner Mostaq Ahmed distributed the awards as the chief guest, presided over by Satkhira Additional Deputy Commissioner Bishnu Padpal.
Present at the award distribution ceremony, moderated by Satkhira District Sports Officer and Ad Hoc Committee Member Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, were District Sports Organization Ad Hoc Committee Member, former FIFA referee Tayyab Hasan Shamsuzzaman Babu, Dr. Abul Kalam Babla, journalist Zillur Rahman, student representative, former joint secretary of Sajekreez Mir Tajul Islam Ripon, Khulna Divisional President of Umpires and Scorers Association AM Aktaruzzaman Mukul, and match referee Ikramul Islam Lalu.
National team cricketer Mrityunjay Chowdhury Nipun was adjudged the Man of the Final and the Series.
GM Saiful Islam Bappi and Toufiq Turag officiated as umpires in the final game. Fazlul Karim was the scorer. Ashraf Hossain and Iqbal Hossain provided commentary for the final game.
