Sylhet Bureau:- BNP Chairperson's advisor Moazzem Hossain Alal said, Hasina is not the leader of Awami League now, she is the leader of her family. She has fled the country with her entire family without thinking about the party's leaders and activists. No one from their family has been arrested so far. Addressing the Awami League at a public meeting, he said, "You should apologize to the nation and repent, if you say 'Apa Apa', nothing will happen."
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the Sylhet District BNP rally as part of the central program of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) at the Sylhet Registry Ground on Wednesday (February 19) afternoon.
This mass rally was held to demand the prevention of price increases in daily necessities nationwide and bringing them to a tolerable level, rapid improvement in the law and order situation, the announcement of an election-time roadmap for transitioning to a democratic path, and resistance against the various conspiracies and misadventures of the fascist regime prevailing in the state.
He said, "This interim government has been formed with everyone's support. Despite having so much support, the government is unable to reduce the prices of commodities. If it cannot reduce prices, those who have been given the responsibility should be relieved of their duties. The Trade Advisor can control the prices of commodities if he wants."
Moazzem Hossain Alal also said that the current interim government has been supported by everyone except the Awami League and its allies. But the owner of Akij Group has been made a trade advisor, the owners of this Akij Group were MPs during the Awami League, they have taken advantage. Now the prices of daily commodities including oil, gas, rice, pulses and edible oil are skyrocketing. If the groups controlling the country's oil market are united, the price of oil will come down.
If the trade advisor is sincere, it is possible to control it. Even after 18 years, our leader Tarique Rahman has been leading the party from a thousand miles away, and has made a place in the hearts of the people. BNP has always been by the side of the people during problems that affect people's lives. Fascism has fallen because of the student movement merging with the long-standing BNP movement. Today's youth will lead this country next. Don't try to shake the BNP tree and pluck its fruits. No fascism will be able to rise in this country by shaking its head.
He said, "Some parties change sides repeatedly. Some days they are in the BNP's side and some days they are in the Awami League's side. Please settle down in one place. We have to stop playing politics."
Earlier, leaders and activists of BNP's organizational organizations including District and Metropolitan BNP, District and Metropolitan Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, Sechchhasebak Dal, Krishak Dal, Mahila Dal and others started attending the rally with processions. The registry ground was filled to the brim with people. As everyone came together after a long time, the ground turned into a gathering.
Special guest's speech:- BNP Chairperson's Advisor Tahsina Rushdir Luna said, "For 17 years, we have been subjected to torture and have brought down the government. Now the basic needs of the people are not being met. The prices of goods have increased due to the imposition of additional VAT. Daily commodities must be kept within the reach of the people. The law and order forces are not working properly. Cases have also been filed in the names of our leaders and activists in various places. Awami League terrorists are coming out of the court on bail. There is unrest in all areas of the administration. We had hoped to get back the missing leaders and activists including Ilyas Ali, but that has not been fulfilled even today. So immediately arrange for national elections."
BNP Chairperson's Advisor Khandaker Abdul Muktadir said, "We want people's ownership in running the country. We want the general public to nominate those who will run the country." A kilogram of coarse rice has increased by 3/4 taka per kilogram in the last few days. Daily wage earners stand in line for work in the morning. People's purchasing power is constantly decreasing. The acolytes of tyranny who are hiding inside the government are creating disruptions in the justice and work. Therefore, we demand the announcement of the election schedule as soon as possible.
BNP Chairperson's advisor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, "To maintain law and order, every BNP leader and activist must work like a vigilant watchman for the people. The main responsibility of this government is to arrange for the national election. Therefore, immediately announce the national election."
GK Gaus, organizing secretary of the national executive committee, said, "Commodity prices are going out of reach. So, control the market and bring daily necessities within the purchasing power of the people, bring the law and order situation under control. We were on the field for the people, we are still there and will be in the future. The local elections will be held after the national elections. If someone's agenda is tried to be implemented, the people will not stay at home."
National Executive Committee Co-Organizing Secretary Kalim Uddin Ahmed Milon said, "Let's hold the election after the necessary logical reforms. No conspiracy will work. We have achieved the initial victory, so our fight will continue."
Miftah Siddiqui, the joint organizing secretary of the national executive committee, said, "Immediately implement the objectives with which we launched the revolution. Break up the market syndicate and bring the prices of goods under control. Bring the aides of dictatorship under the law and arrange for immediate elections."
In his speech, Sylhet District BNP President Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury said, "After the revolution, domestic and foreign conspiracies are going on about our homeland. If we want to protect the country from conspiracies, there is no alternative to the government elected by the people's votes. In the future, every leader and activist of BNP will be on the field like in the past to face any challenge, InshaAllah."
Moderated by Sylhet District BNP General Secretary Emran Ahmed Chowdhury, the event was also addressed by special guests including Deputy Secretary for Micro and Credit Affairs, Freedom Fighter Abdur Razzak, Central Member Dr. Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury, Abul Kaher Chowdhury Shamim, Hadiya Chowdhury Munni, Sylhet Metropolitan BNP Acting President Rezaul Hasan Koyes Lodi, General Secretary Imdad Hossain Chowdhury, and others.
