A drive has been launched to remove illegal vehicle stands in Muktagachha town to free it from encroachment and ensure uninterrupted movement of people during Ramadan. The upazila administration conducted the eviction drive from 10 am on Saturday at the city's old bus stand, Tanbazar, Daricharani, Maharaja Road, Dakbangalore, Baromsjid Road, Dispensary Road, College Road and in front of the police station.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of Upazila Executive Officer Atiqul Islam with the cooperation of Muktagachha Police Station and Army. At that time, the mobile court imposed a fine of 1,000 taka and 2,000 taka on Rakib Biryani House and Bismillah Traders under Section 188 of 1860. The police detained an Islam Paribahan bus parked at the old bus stand and took it to the police station.
Upazila Executive Officer Atiqul Islam said that if someone rents an illegal shop on the sidewalk, then he will have to take responsibility for it. Notices have been given several times in the past. Still, those who were occupying it have been evicted. The drive will continue. Muktagachha Police Station OC Kamal Hossain and Sena Bahini Warrant Officer Babul were present at the time.
