On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, a discussion meeting and food distribution ceremony among the children was held at Sher-e-Bangla Pathakoli School, Jhautala, Hazaribagh on the morning of February 17. The school committee president, RK Ripon, was in the chair and Barrister Jahanara Imam, chairman of the Humanities Society, was present as the chief guest.
Television Reporters Unity of Bangladesh (TRAB) President Salam Mahmud, Bangladesh National Human Rights Association Chairman Md. Manjur Hossain Isa were present as special guests. Junaid Hossain, Hasibur Rahman Tota, and school headmaster Shantana Islam were present on behalf of the school committee. Chief guest Barrister Jahanara Imam came forward for the better reading and writing of underprivileged children. She provided necessary items including school fans, lights, boards. She also announced that she would celebrate Eid with the children before Eid.
The school committee declared Barrister Jahanara Imam as the honorary advisor of the school. During this, underprivileged children entertained the chief guest by reciting poems and rhymes. At the end of the program, a special prayer was offered to pay tribute to the memory of the language soldiers. At the program, the chief guest was presented with a commemorative plaque by Sher-e-Bangla Pathakoli School on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.
