The army destroyed a mortar shell found in a pond in the Shashidal Senar Bazar area of Brahmanpara, Comilla.
Members of the army's bomb disposal team destroyed a powerful anti-tank mortar shell lying in an abandoned area on the eastern side of the Comilla-Bagra road in the Shashidal Sener Bazar area of Brahmanpara upazila of Comilla at 12 noon on Saturday.
Local sources said that the Brahmanpara police station was informed on Saturday morning to see the mortar shell. The police contacted the army's bomb disposal team, after which a group of army personnel from the Comilla Canterman Cantonment reached the spot. They removed the excited crowd from there to a safe distance. Then the bomb disposal team led by Major Nazmus Shakiba Esha and Captain Mashrur Abid arrived there. In addition, Brahmanpara police station and BGB members were present.
