An elderly man named Shamsul Biswas (90) was killed in a head-on collision between a brick-laden trolley and a Mahindra car on his way to Bishwa Zaker Manzil Darbar in Sadarpur upazila of Faridpur.
It is learned that the accident occurred at around 1:30 pm on Saturday (February 15) in Majumdar Bazar of Krishnapur Union of the upazila. The deceased is the son of the deceased Ichaluddin of Maissha Dangi village of Mogura Sadar upazila.
Eyewitnesses said that a speeding Mahindra car suddenly lost control and collided with a brick-laden trolley. Shamsul Biswas, Md. Sifadul Shek (55) and Shamsul Mondal (65) were seriously injured in the collision. When locals rescued them and took them to Sadarpur Upazila Health Complex, the on-duty doctor Dr. Mahidul Islam Shaon declared Shamsul Biswas dead.
In this regard, the police station's officer-in-charge Md. A. Motaleb Hossain said that the police inspected the scene. Necessary legal action will be taken after the investigation.
