Humayon Kabir Miraj: A rally and gathering was held at the initiative of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Baghachra Union Branch to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.
The rally started at 5 pm on Friday (February 28) from the premises of the Bagh Anchra Central Jama Masjid and ended by visiting important places in the market.
Leaders and activists from various levels of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir participated in the rally. They highlighted the significance of the holy month of Ramadan and urged everyone to follow Islamic precepts.
Maulana Rezaul Karim, Joint Secretary of Jessore District Jamaat, spoke as the chief guest at a brief gathering before the rally.
Also speaking at the event were Sharsha Police Station Jamaat Executive Committee member Firoz Al Mahmud, Jhikargachha Police Station Executive Committee member Maulana Mizanur Rahman, Bagh Anchra Union Jamaat Amir Maulana Habibullah Belali, Secretary Master Tabibur Rahman, Kaiba Union Jamaat Amir Amirul Islam, Secretary Gazi Maulana Ruhul Amin and Goga Union Jamaat Amir Maulana Ibrahim Khalil.
The procession was seen chanting various slogans demanding the end of the month of Ramadan, closing hotels and restaurants during the day, and keeping the prices of daily necessities stable. In addition to Jamaat and Shibir leaders, devout Muslims participated in the welcome procession.
