A mobile court has been conducted against 8 illegal brick kilns in Singair, Manikganj. The mobile court was led by Executive Magistrate Faizunnesa Akhter of the Monitoring and Enforcement Wing of the Department of Environment.
On Sunday (February 9), a day-long drive was conducted at various brick kilns under the initiative of the Manikganj Department of Environment District Office.
A total of 16 lakh taka was collected from 8 illegal brick kilns, including Messrs. Ali Akbar Bricks-1 of Kholapara area of Baldhara union of the upazila, 2 lakh taka from Messrs. Ali Akbar Bricks-2 of the same area, 3 lakh taka from Messrs. Ali Akbar Bricks-5 of the same area, 1 lakh taka from Messrs. Ali Akbar-6, 2 lakh taka each from Messrs. Awal Bricks-1 and Awal Bricks-3 of the same union, 2 lakh taka each from Messrs. Safur Bricks and Rakman Bricks of the Ramkantpur area of the same union. A total of 16 lakh taka was collected from 8 illegal brick kilns. Deputy Director of the Manikganj District Office of the Department of Environment, Dr. Md. Yusuf Ali, Senior Chemist AKM Chamiul Alam Kursi and Inspector and Prosecutor Monowarul Islam were present during the operation. At that time, members of RAB-4, Manikganj District Police, and Singair Fire Service and Civil Defense assisted.
Executive Magistrate Faizunnesa Akhter, who is leading the mobile court, said that the drive against illegal brick kilns will continue to protect the environment and public health. Appropriate action will be taken against brick kilns that violate the law.
