A manager of a company named Rokanuzzaman (45) was stabbed in broad daylight in Sharsha, Jessore, and robbed of 8 lakh taka.
At that time, the locals came forward and chased the two robbers after hearing the victim's screams, arrested them and handed them over to the police after a public wash. However, two more robbers escaped on a motorcycle with the money. Later, the Sharsha police station conducted a raid and arrested two more robbers along with the money.
The seriously injured manager was initially admitted to the Sharsha Upazila Health Complex, but when his condition deteriorated, he was sent to the 250-bed Jessore General Hospital for advanced treatment.
The manager, who was robbed and seriously injured, is the son of the late Nazrul Islam of Ward No. 1 of Bagachra Union in Roknuzzaman Upazila. He works as the manager of a Nourish Feed dealer shop owned by Ruhul Amin in the Mosque Market of Bagachra Bazar.
Police said that when Roknuzzaman, manager of Ruhul Amin, a dealer of Nourish Fish Feed Limited in Bagachra, reached Navaran and Satkhira road in front of Ulashi Dakshinpara passenger camp in Ulashi union of Sharsha at around 2 pm on Wednesday, the robbers Hridoy Hossain (24), son of Joynal Abedin of Kalagachi village in Jhikargachha upazila, Faisal Hossain (18), Tariqul Islam (25) of the same village and Rabble (23) of Islampur village stopped his motorcycle and injured Roknuzzaman with a country-made weapon, Ramda and a knife and robbed him of 8 lakh taka. On hearing the victim's screams, the people around came forward and chased him, arrested the robbers Hridoy Hossain and Faisal and gave them to the police after a mob lynching. The two robbers escaped with the motorcycle along with the money.
Upon receiving the information, Sharsha Police Station reached the spot and brought the situation under control. At that time, the injured robbers were rescued and taken to the police station after receiving first aid at Navaran Upazila Health Complex. Later, the police launched a raid and arrested the robbers Tariqul and Rabble, who had fled with the money in the evening.
Police also said that the robbers used a tactic to prevent anyone from stopping them, and they robbed the people while wearing jerseys with the BNP logo.
Sharsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Rabiul Islam confirmed the matter and said that as soon as the incident was reported, the police launched a raid and arrested the robbers along with the stolen money within just 3 hours. A case has been filed at Sharsha Police Station. He said that they are investigating whether any other gang is involved in the incident. #
