Md. Rezaul Haque Shakil, Brahmanpara (Comilla) Representative
Josna, a five-year-old child from Brahmanpara, Comilla, who was born into a poor family, went to work in a house in the capital Dhaka through a distant uncle. Incidentally, she disappeared from there after two months. She later grew up in another family. The family also got her married.
She now lives in the South Salna area of Gazipur with her husband and a son named Yasin. Her husband Shahidul Islam works in a project and she works in a garment factory. She was struggling to find her lost family, holding back the pain of losing her family. 23 years have passed.
Finally, Josna got her lost family back through the popular show 'Apon Thikana' hosted by RJ Kibria. This ended the pain of losing a relative that was weighing on Josna's heart. Josna is the daughter of Md. Abul Hasem of Chatiani area of Sahebabad Union of the upazila. This information has been revealed from the video uploaded on the YouTube channel of 'Apon Thikana'.
In the video uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Apon Thikana' produced by Studio of Creative Arts Limited, it can be seen that Josna, who was separated from her family for 23 years, was moved to tears after being reunited with her parents, siblings and relatives after 23 years. This emotional scene of reuniting with her family members after many years has touched nearly a lakh viewers on the internet. The video was aired on the YouTube channel 'Apon Thikana' on February 10. Earlier, on January 29, Josna told the sad story of her disappearance on 'Apon Thikana'. Since then, based on the partial information provided by Josna, the 'Apon Thikana' authorities have started searching for Josna's family and finally found Josna's missing family.
Josna told 'Apon Thikana' that when I was a child, my mother gave me work in a house in Jatrabari, Dhaka, in 2002 without informing my father. They beat me there because I couldn't work properly. Unable to bear all this torture, I left the house thinking that one day I would be able to leave our house alone. After leaving the house and going some distance, everything got messy. I started worrying about how I would get home? I don't know. Where is our house? I got scared. At that time, a woman was walking on the road, and seeing no other way out, I started following the woman. The woman tried to avoid me at first, but later I stayed with that woman's family for about a year. Then they gave me to another family. I couldn't stay there for long either. They also gave me to another family. Finally, I grew up in that family. They gave me a marriage. Currently, I have a husband and a young son.
Josna said, "I had to listen to a lot of gossip because I didn't know my parents. I couldn't study because I didn't know my parents. I couldn't even become a citizen of the country. I express my gratitude to the authorities of 'Apon Thikana', including those who directly and indirectly helped me find my missing family. I especially thank Shamim Bhai from my office, who helped me by arranging a vacation."
RJ Golam Kibria Sarkar said in the video, 'Apon Thikana' has returned nearly 450 children to their families in the last four years. This is undoubtedly a place of satisfaction for us. Allah Almighty has done this great work through us. We are grateful for this. Many are surprised within a few hours of releasing these successful videos. Families who have lost someone are now waiting for their lost person to be seen on this program. We hope that this number of successes will surprise even more in the future.
