In Faridpur, the Charbhadrasan Upazila administration, with the slogan "Come and change the country, change the world", organized a "Youth Festival - 2025" cleanliness drive on February 10th at 11 am in the Upazila Parishad premises. And when the leaders of Jamaat Islami asked them to evaluate the journalists they knew, they evaluated the pro-Awami journalists.
It has also been seen that Charbhadrasan Upazila Executive Officer Monira Khatun is creating a role in the controversy by joining recently. Upazila Executive Officer Monira Khatun's office is building the capacity of various Awami League leaders. Awami League is constantly providing various facilities to journalists.
Led by the President of the Workers' Welfare Federation, Sheikh Solaiman Hossain, and the Secretary of Jamaat Islam, Kausar Hossain, the leaders met at 12 noon to evaluate the journalists who had conducted their party program. The leaders of Jamaat Islam introduced the representative of their daily Sangram to Upazila Executive Officer Rahima Khatun, but did not evaluate him. Upazila Executive Officer Rahima Khatun is evaluating the journalists of Awami Mind.
In this regard, Sheikh Sulaiman, president of the Charbhadrasan Upazila branch of the Workers' Welfare Federation, one of the organizations of Jamaat-e-Islam, said, "We detest such actions by the Upazila Executive Officer, and we will inform the District Commissioner through the District Jamaat-e-Islam president and request the District Commissioner to take necessary action."
The newly-joined Upazila Nirbahi Officer said that those who were evaluated before were evaluated. However, why are those who were evaluated before August 5th being evaluated after August 5th? He could not give a good answer to this.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Kamrul Hasan Molla said, "I will ask the Charbhadrasan Upazila Executive Officer to refrain from such activities."
The local civil society is demanding legal action against Upazila Executive Officer Monira Khatun for such activities.
