World Wildlife Day 2025 was celebrated in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar, with the theme "Financing Wildlife Conservation, Developing People and Land". A rally and discussion meeting were held at the Lawachhara National Park in the upazila on Monday (March 3) afternoon to mark the observance of World Wildlife Day.
Jamil Mohammad Khan, Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) of the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Department, was the chief guest at the discussion organized by the Lawachhara National Park Co-Management Committee and chaired by the committee's acting president Amina Begum.
The discussion was attended by Lawachara Range Officer Nazmul Islam of the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Department, Tourist Police Officer-in-Charge Kamrul Hasan Chowdhury, President of Kamalganj Reporters Unity Pintu Debnath, Member Secretary of Kamalganj Press Club Ahmeduzzaman Alam, Joint Convener of Municipal BNP Shafiqur Rahman, Treasurer of CMC Committee Janak Debbarma, Lawachara Fund Head Fila Patami, General Secretary of Kamalganj Reporters Unity Nirmal S. Palash, President of Pahar Raksha Unnayan Society Md. Monayem Khan and Forest Worker Babul Mia.
The speakers at the meeting called for awareness and joint work to protect wildlife. Various BIT officers of the Forest Department, members of CMC and members of CPG were present at the meeting.
