Sheikh Borhan Uddin (R.A.) Islamic Society (BIS), a renowned social and humanitarian organization of Moulvibazar, has set a unique example in human service. The organization recently gifted new pucca houses to two helpless families in Rupspur and Satijhir villages of Kamalganj upazila.
From a troubled life to a new shelter, Chabar Ali of Rupspur village was living with his seven-member family under a dilapidated thatched roof. The house became completely uninhabitable due to the flood. The same situation was in the case of Md. Zillur Rahman of Satijhir village. When the humanitarian team of BIS went to distribute relief among the flood victims, they witnessed their plight and took the initiative to build houses.
BIS founder and chairman M Muhibur Rahman Muhib said on Sunday (March 2), "Yesterday
We officially handed over two pucca houses on March 1 (Saturday). Leading members of the organization, along with local dignitaries, were present at the event.
BIS's humanitarian assistance did not stop here. *23 bun tins were provided to 5 more flood-affected families. In addition, 11 families were provided with ducks, roosters, goats and necessary materials for small businesses for rehabilitation.
The organization's chairman, M Muhibur Rahman Muhib, said, "We don't just want to provide temporary help, but rather give people a chance to get back on their feet. Our goal is the long-term rehabilitation of the affected families."
This initiative of BIS proves that, 'If compassion and cooperation are extended, no helpless person will have to spend their days under the open sky. This will be an example of inspiration for other organizations and the wealthy in society.'
