Kurigram Correspondent: Police have arrested Tilai Union Jubo League President Zahir Uddin (45) in a case filed in connection with an attack on students and the public during an anti-discrimination movement in Bhurungamari, Kurigram.
According to police sources, on Saturday (March 1) evening, Bhurungamari police conducted a special operation and arrested Zahir Uddin, son of the deceased Jitu Molla, from Dhamerhat Bazar of Paschim Chhat Gopalpur village of Tilai Union of the upazila.
Bhurungamari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Al Helal Mahmud confirmed the incident and said that he was arrested in a case filed in connection with the attack on the anti-discrimination movement on August 4. The arrested Zahir Uddin was sent to the Kurigram District Court (March 2).
It is worth noting that on August 4, an attack was carried out on students and the public during an anti-discrimination movement in Bhurungamari, Kurigram. Several people were injured in the incident.
