Police of Gouripur Police Station have arrested six people, including one, in a devil hunt operation in Gouripur, Mymensingh. On Sunday night, during a drive in different areas, one was arrested for devil hunting, three for suspected fraud, one in a regular case and one person with a warrant.
They were sent to the Mymensingh Magistrate's Court on Monday afternoon.
According to sources from the Gouripur police station, the police have arrested Joynal Abedin, the organizing secretary of the Achintapur Union Awami League in the upazila, on charges of creating instability.
In the operation today, police arrested Shamsuddin (55), a regular accused in a case, Shahid Mia, a warranted accused, and Khalek Mia (45), Harun (40) and Robin (25) as suspects.
Mirza Mazharul Anwar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gouripur Police Station, said that a total of 6 people, including one person, have been arrested in the Devil Hunt operation. The Devil Hunt operation is ongoing, and if anyone tries to create chaos anywhere, they will be arrested immediately.
