Khan Monayem Hossain, joint general secretary of Faridpur District Krishak League and president of Gopalpur Union Awami League, was seen receiving an award during the award distribution ceremony at a cultural program organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at the Multipurpose Hall Room of the Upazila Parishad in Alfadanga, Faridpur.
There is a storm of criticism on Facebook and the general public regarding this. The event was organized at the multipurpose auditorium of the Upazila Parishad. At the event, more than a hundred students from various educational institutions of the upazila were divided into different groups and participated in the Kirat competition, Islamic music and Mehndi design skill (girls only) competition.
It is known that on February 16 (Sunday), a youth cultural program was organized at the initiative of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Alfadanga, Faridpur. Later, a total of 21 people, seven from each group, were distributed crests, certificates and attractive prizes by the judges. Khan Monayem Hossain, Joint General Secretary of Faridpur District Krishak League and President of Gopalpur Union Awami League, was seen distributing the prizes at this award ceremony.
In addition, Alfadanga Anti-Discrimination Student Movement members Rais Uddin and Md. Under the leadership of Muaz, Alfadanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harun-or Rashid, Alfadanga Anti-Discrimination Student Movement members Musfiq, Razin Islam, Md. Monirul, Machura Rahman, Md. Talha, Tasnim and teachers from various schools were present.
The presence of Monayem Khan has caused public outrage.
A student present at the event, who participated in the anti-discrimination student movement, said that Moneim Khan, who had imprisoned people in Alfadanga by filing a false case of insulting Bangabandhu, is now in good health. This is a betrayal of the blood of the martyrs and war dead of July.
