Kashipur Hasemia High School in Kashipur Union, Homna Upazila, Comilla, held a grand celebration to celebrate its golden jubilee and reunite its former students.
Saturday (February 22) A colorful rally, discussion, reminiscences, dance and songs will be held throughout the day.
Golden Jubilee and reunion ceremonies were held.
Former student of the school, banker Md. Zahirul Islam, presided over the event, with BNP Central Committee Organizing Secretary Principal Selim Bhuiyan as the chief guest. The program was inaugurated by school donor member Abdul Moin. The welcome speech was delivered by former student celebration committee member secretary Dr. Md. Shahid Ullah.
Among others, Upazila BNP President Mohammad Mohiuddin, General Secretary Md. Mozammel Haque Mukul, Upazila Jamaat Amir Maulana Md. Saidul Haque, current headmaster Salamat Ullah, former headmaster Abul Bashar Sarkar spoke.
Former students of the school include Supreme Court lawyers Md. Shah Alam Sarkar, Haradhan Chandra, Professor Md. Shah Alam, Anwarul Azim, Abdul Malek, Advocate Zakir Hossain, Rafiqul Islam, Jahangir Alam, Sadeq Sarkar, Customs officer Md. Mizanur Rahman, Professor Faruk Ahmed, and others.
At the event, local residents, including former and current students of the school, demanded that the school be converted into a college. Later, a pleasant cultural program was held.
