On the occasion of the immortal Ekushey February International Mother Language Day, leaders of various government and private organizations including the Sunamganj District Administration, Police Administration, District Freedom Fighters' Association, District BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Chhatra Dal, District National Party, Municipality, Water Development Board, and others laid wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar in Sunamganj at 12:01 am in memory of the martyrs.
On Friday at 12:01 am, in the first hour, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Ilias Mia, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samar Kumar Pal and other district administration officials laid wreaths at the central Shaheed Minar adjacent to the stadium. The leaders said that on this day in 1952, the brave sons of Bengal sacrificed their lives for the language. Today's Bangladesh was achieved in return for their sacrifice. Besides, on August 5, 2024, the new horizon of another new Bangladesh was opened with the fall of the fascist Awami League. Therefore, the leaders who came to lay flowers at the Shaheed Bedi expressed their firm determination to work together to build a self-reliant Bangladesh of the future.
