Md. Fakhrul Islam is the Sylhet divisional director in the National Rural Development Cooperative Federation elections.
Moulvibazar District BNP Convening Committee member Md. Fakhrul Islam has won the Sylhet Divisional Director post in the National Rural Development Cooperative Federation's Management Committee election. He contested with the motorcycle symbol.
The election was held on Saturday (March 1) at the Cooperative Federation office in Dilkusha area of Dhaka.
The rival candidate is Abdul Wahed Anjab (symbol: hut) of Habiganj. Meanwhile, Mr. Fakhrul Islam's current responsibilities: Member of the convening committee of Moulvibazar District BNP and current president of Moulvibazar Sadar UCCA Ltd.
The National Rural Development Cooperative Federation announced the election schedule on February 11 to form a management committee across the country. In this election, Md. Fakhrul Islam and Abdul Wahed Anjab contested for the post of director from Sylhet Division (Block No. 8).
Concerned people believe that this victory will open up new prospects for development in the cooperative sector of Sylhet division. Fakhrul Islam is expected to work with new perspectives and development plans in the cooperative sector.
Through this election, the representation of Sylhet Division at the national level was further strengthened.
