The 45th founding anniversary of the Nationalist Weavers' Party was celebrated in Sirajganj with colorful events.
On Saturday (February 22), at 11 am, a discussion meeting was held at Bhashani Milnayet in the municipal town organized by the District Weavers' Association. Later, a rally was taken out. The rally circled the main roads of the district and ended at the market station Mukti Sopan, where a short discussion meeting was organized.
The program was presided over by Sirajganj District Weavers Party Convener Anisur Rahman, with former MP for Sirajganj Sadar and Kamarkhand constituencies and District BNP President Rumana Mahmud speaking as the chief guest, and Sirajganj District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu speaking as the main speaker.
Speakers at the event prayed for the health of Khaleda Zia and demanded the government to formulate specific policies to improve the quality of weavers in Bangladesh.
Earlier in the morning, tributes were paid by hoisting the national and party flags and placing wreaths at the portrait of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.
