Chatkhil Correspondent: Madrasas were factories for producing militants, madrasa students were not given jobs, they were harassed in various ways in the hope of getting jobs. Madrasa education has been marginalized in this country under the Awami League's misrule. This was commented by Professor Mian Mohammad Nurul Haque, Chairman of the only Madrasa Education Board in Bangladesh.
The event was held at the Yunus-Halima Darus Sunnah Dakhil Madrasa ground in Chatkhil Upazila of Noakhali district on March 1 (Saturday) at 11 am, moderated by senior teacher Maulana Abdul Awal, with founder and president of the event Muhebbullah Mir presiding. Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board Chairman Professor Miah Mohammad Nurul Haque spoke as the chief guest of the event. At the event, scholarships and educational materials were distributed among 30 meritorious students courtesy of Yunus-Halima Welfare Foundation.
The special guests who spoke were Md. Golam Kibria, Headmaster of Noakhali District School, Maulana Abdus Salam, Patron of the award Dr. Shamsur Rahman, and Senior Vice President of the Madrasa, Mahbubur Rahman Mamun.
Also present were Rezanur Patwari Liton, Joint General Secretary of the Governing Body, members Mosharraf Hossain Selim Gazi, Md. Nasir Uddin, Sharif Ullah Mir and Farhad Hossain Shanto, and social figures.
At the event, a total of 30 students from Ebtedayi Class I to Dakhil Class X were awarded educational scholarships and educational materials based on their merit. Later, the guests invited to the event were presented with commemorative crests.
