The welcoming ceremony of the eleventh grade freshmen and the award distribution ceremony of the annual sports and cultural competition were held at Shaher Banu Ideal School and College in Barura, Comilla.
The program was organized at the college premises on Friday, February 28 at 9:30 am with Comilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Professor Md. Shamsul Islam as the chief guest. The founder of the institution and eminent educationist Mr. Abdul Haque presided over the program.
Barura Secondary Education Officer Ratan Kumar Saha, Barura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Nazmul Haque and Board of Directors President Mr. Amin Nargis were present as special guests at the event. Headmasters, assistant teachers, guardians and dignitaries from various educational institutions were also present at the event.
The entire program came alive with the welcoming of new students, reception of special guests, distribution of awards for the annual competition, and cultural performances. The patriotic songs, dances, poetry recitations, and plays performed by the students captivated the audience.
In his speech as the chief guest, Professor Md. Shamsul Islam advised the students to focus on their studies. He said, "Education, discipline and morality are very important to develop as an ideal citizen."
President of the program, Abdul Haque, inspired the students and said, 'Education is the best asset in human life, which ensures a better future.'
College Principal Md. Rezaul Karim Majumder declared the end of the program by expressing his gratitude. The program was coordinated by Assistant Principal Kamrun Nesa and convened by Md. Alauddin, and moderated by Nayan Dewanji, Shakila Islam and Abdur Rahman Joki.
