Sarail (Brahmanbaria) Representative
Two people, Azad Ali (60) and Amanat (60), were killed in a brahmin dispute in Sarail, Brahmanbaria. Four people have been detained for questioning.
The incident took place in the Bishitara area of Kalikachchh union of the upazila on Tuesday (February 4) morning. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the morgue of the District Sadar Hospital.
According to police and local sources, Azad Ali Gang, son of deceased Umar Ali of Bishutara village, and Insan Ali, son of Usman Ali of the same clan, had been in a dispute over land for a long time. About 8 years ago, there was a riot and murder between them. Azad Ali, the accused in the Mia Hossain murder case, and many others were involved in it. And Insan Ali Gangra, the accused in another murder case. Both parties have been imprisoned in the case.
Azad Gangra had been staying outside the village for more than 8 years. Recently, Azad Ali made preparations to build a house in the village, which angered his opponent Insan Ali Gangra.
On Tuesday morning, Azad went to open his shop next to his house. At that time, people from Insan Ali's side suddenly attacked him and seriously injured him. Later, Azad's people also attacked them. In this, Mishir Ali's son Amanat was seriously injured by a spear. Later, Azad Ali and Amanat were rescued in critical condition and taken to Brahmanbaria District Sadar Hospital, where both of them died during treatment.
When asked about this, Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Hasan confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the police are on alert to prevent the law and order situation from deteriorating at the scene.
