Anti-drug operation in Pirojpur Sadar Police Station and the Detective Branch (DB) of the police have arrested 5 drug dealers, including a mother and son. They were arrested from different parts of the city in a drive late on Thursday (February 13). During this, 7 kg 250 grams of marijuana, 300 pieces of Yaba tablets and 10 thousand taka worth of drug sales were recovered from them.
Pirojpur district's Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Md. Mukit Hasan Khan confirmed the matter through a press conference at around 11:30 am on Friday.
Mukit Hasan Khan said at the press conference that last night, a drive led by Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Abdus Sobhan from Banshbaria village in Shankarpasha Union of Sadar Upazila seized 5 kg of marijuana, 300 packets of yaba and 10,000 taka worth of drug sales, and drug dealers Gulbanu, his son Rajib Khan and Md. Rabiul Islam. In another drive led by SI Nurul Amin of the police's Detective Branch (DB), Alamgir Molla was arrested from a house in Muktarkathi village in the municipal area along with 250 grams of marijuana.
Also, in a separate operation led by ASI Muzammel Hossain of Sadar Police Station at around 4:30 am today, the police arrested drug dealer Mosa. Nazma Akhter along with 2 kg of marijuana from the house of one Al Amin of Sikder Mallik Union of Sadar Upazila. 3 cases have been filed in this incident at Pirojpur Sadar Police Station. Such operations of the district police will continue to free Pirojpur district from drugs, terrorism and extortionists.
