Paikgachha Representative:
A Pitha festival was held in Paikgachha with great enthusiasm and excitement. Paikgachha Government College organized this day-long Pitha festival. 70 types of Pitha were displayed in 9 stalls of the Pitha festival organized on the college grounds.
On Saturday afternoon, the Pitha Festival was inaugurated by the convener of the Pitha Festival Celebration Committee, Lecturer Swapan Kanti Ghosh, with Upazila Executive Mahera Nazneen as the chief guest. The inaugural guest was Principal Professor Samaresh Roy. The special guests were Vice Principal Mihir Baran Mondal, Social Service Officer Anath Kumar Biswas, Food Controller Hasibur Rahman, URC Instructor Iman Uddin, GM Zakaria of the Small Farmers Foundation, President of Paikgachha Lawyers Association Advocate GM Abdus Sattar, Former President Alhaj GA Sabur, NISCHA General Secretary Ilias Hossain, President of Sholaana Businessmen Cooperative Association GM Shukuruzzaman, Vice President of the Press Club Md. Abdul Aziz. Stalls were provided by various teachers, students and departments in the Pitha Festival. A total of 9 stalls were placed.
The stalls were named after different flowers. The stalls are Rajni Gandha of the Political Science Department, Jui Chameli of Lecturer Lutfa Islam, Shapla Shaluk of the Bengali Department, Krishnachura of Lecturer Mokhlesur Rahman, Krishnachura of Lecturer Mahbuba Nazneen Irani, Hasnahena of Soma Roy and Tarun Ghosh, Parijat of Sultana Jahan, Umme Hayat Mehera Banu and Ranjita Rani, Aparajita of the Management Department, Raktakkarbi of Class XI student Nazifa Anjum Rafi and Chandra Mallika of the Social Work Department. After the inauguration, the Upazila Executive Officer and other guests visited the various stalls. Immediately after the inauguration, a huge crowd of pitha buyers and visitors was observed at each stall. People of different ages and professions came to the pitha festival with their families and loved ones. The stalls have anywhere from 30-40 to 70-72 types of pitha. Each stall is decorated in a different way.

The Pitha festival is filled with a festive atmosphere throughout the day with a huge crowd of buyers and visitors. Child Aryan Yas said that he came to the festival to see different types of pitha. Samia Sultana Sathi, a student of Satkhira Government College, said that he was able to get acquainted with different types of pitha by coming to the festival. Masuma Akhter of Krishnachura stall said that 72 types of pitha were displayed. Mahbuba Nazneen Irani, a lecturer at Hasna Hena stall, said that the stall was crowded.
