Chatkhil Representative: Chatkhil Upazila Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Aqib Osman fined two brick kilns in Chatkhil Upazila for not complying with government regulations and protecting the environment.
On the morning of February 12 (Wednesday) in Chatkhil Upazila of Noakhali district, SMB Brick Field of Mohammadpur Union of Chatkhil Upazila and Rupali Brick Field of Khilpara Union were fined Tk 50,000 and Tk 1 lakh respectively under the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act, 2013. At that time, the brick kiln, bricks prepared for burning, etc. were destroyed with the help of excavators and fire service.
In this regard, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Aqib Osman said that the upazila administration's campaign to stop illegal brick kilns will continue. During the operation, the Department of Environment Noakhali, Bangladesh Army, Fire Service Chatkhil, Chatkhil Thana Police and Ansar members provided overall cooperation.
