Alhaj Md. Zakir Hossain Munshi, the son of the traditional Munshi family of Nowpara Union in Naria Upazila of Shariatpur district, and the repeatedly elected Chairman of Nowpara Union Parishad, has been accused of trying to tarnish his reputation. He has sought the attention of the concerned quarters and the appropriate authorities in this regard.
Local sources say that for almost 30 years, the heir to the traditional Munshi family of Naopara Union in Naria Upazila of Shariatpur district, Alhaj Md. Zakir Hossain Munshi, the repeatedly elected Chairman of Naopara Union Parishad, has been working with reputation and honesty in the area. Zakir Hossain Munshi's name is closely associated with various service activities including roads, bridge culverts, electricity, healthcare, educational institutions, religious institutions in the remote Char Naopara Union of the Padma. He is a refuge for the helpless people of that area. He always stands by the people of Naopara in happiness and sorrow.
He even played a major role in the construction of a dam to protect the banks of the Padma River in Naopara. He has earned the respect of being a universally accepted person in Naopara.
The Munshi family has even donated land worth three crore taka for the construction of an electricity substation. However, recently a group of evil people has risen up to tarnish his reputation and integrity. In continuation of that, they are trying to implicate Zakir Munshi in the attack on a drug dealer. They are even trying to harass him by filing false cases. However, the residents of the area claim that Zakir Munshi's reputation cannot be tarnished by any conspiracy.
Many locals say that Zakir Hossain Munshi has been serving us in various ways for almost 30 years. His father and grandfather also served the people of this area till their death. He has done a lot for the welfare of the people. We were with him in the past, we are with him in the present and we will be with him in the future. A local evil group is spreading misinformation and conspiring against him in various ways. However, they will not succeed. There will be no benefit in conspiring.
In this regard, Naopara UP Chairman Alhaj Md. Zakir Hossain Munshi said, "I have served the people of the area a lot through my work. Except for some evil people, everyone is on my side. I have been with the people of the area, am and will be. My reputation cannot be ruined by any conspiracy. Because the people of this area know me well."
