The upazila administration has fined two high-ranking officials Tk 20,000 for illegally cutting soil from the Abdanga River in Daulatpur, Manikganj. A shovel and soil used for cutting soil have also been seized.
Daulatpur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Ahsanul Alam conducted a mobile court on Thursday (February 20) afternoon.
He said that Daulatpur violated the provisions of Section 4(b) of the Sand and Soil Management Act 2010 by cutting soil from the Abudanga River. He also said that the fine was imposed on the complaint and the soil cutting equipment was confiscated.
