An administrative officer of Godagari Upazila has been arrested along with a woman in a naked state. He was arrested holding hands with a UNO maid in a residential building in the upazila. When the video of the incident went viral on social media, it created a huge sensation in the area. There is pent-up anger among the locals over this. The administrative officer is Hafizur Rahman. He is working as a deputy administrative officer of the UNO office of Godagari Upazila. Immediately after it went viral, he is threatening to harass journalists in various ways, including filing cases and assaulting them.
He was arrested along with the woman by the crowd at approximately 6 pm on February 27 (Thursday). Hafizur promised to marry the woman to the people present, praying for respect. In such a difficult situation, the people released him, thinking of respect. After that, a viral video of an administrative officer engaging in anti-social activities went viral in various media. Enraged by this, he has started threatening some people in the area, including journalists, with legal action. In the meantime, if the viral video footage is not removed, he has continued to threaten to frame everyone, including the former and current UNOs, with extortion cases.
In this regard, administrative officer Hafizur Rahman said, "I will file a case. I informed the OC about the matter. I also informed the UNO sir. They advised me to file a case."
Ruhul Amin, officer-in-charge of Godagari Model Police Station, said, "I have not received any complaint from anyone. If the complaint comes true, a proper investigation will be conducted. Action will be taken against whoever is actually guilty."
When I called Godagari Upazila Executive Officer Faisal Ahmed to inform him about the matter, he did not answer the phone.
It is worth noting that Deputy Administrative Officer Hafizur Rahman is the mastermind behind the irregularities and corruption in the UNO office. Earlier, on 18-8-24, various complaints were filed against him by the Divisional Commissioner and the District Commissioner regarding his various irregularities and corruption. Despite the complaint, this woman-eater Hafizur Rahman remained in his post. In that complaint, incidents of women's abuse were also raised against him. The complaint signed by four people has not yet seen the light of day. However, Hafizur Rahman says that the complaint has been proven false.
