International Women's Day was celebrated in Mohammadpur on the morning of February 27 under the initiative of Ashar Alo Society with the theme 'Rights, Equality, Empowerment, Development of Women and Girls'. A rally, cake cutting and discussion meeting were organized on the occasion of Women's Day.

The celebration was presided over by Abdur Rahman, Executive Director of Ashar Alo Society. In his welcome speech, he said that everyone must unite to establish women's rights. Only when everyone is united will women regain their rights.

Speaking as a special guest, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Deputy Director of Ashar Alo, said, "Those of you who are here have become more competent and rights-conscious than before. Now you have learned to protest injustice yourself. If everyone is aware like this, no one will be able to take away women's rights."
Najma, a domestic worker who participated in the program, said, "Earlier, when we came to celebrate Women's Day, people around us would laugh and laugh. The family would stop us. Now, the situation has changed because of our protest. Ashar Alo Society has taught us how to protest. We have now learned to claim our rights ourselves."
The event was attended by domestic workers, Ashar Alo Society officials and employees, and people from different walks of life. The event was hosted by Ashar Alo Society Program Manager Abdur Rahman.
