A human chain and protest rally have been held in protest against the stabbing of two youths in Jhalokati. The human chain and protest rally were held in front of the Jhalokati Press Club on Tuesday morning. The program was organized under the banner of the Kalabagan locals of Ward No. 9 of Jhalokati Municipality. Later, the protesters went to Jhalokati Sadar Police Station and protested.
The two injured youths are Prince and Parvez. They are the sons of Md. Kamal Hossain of Jhalakathi. They are undergoing treatment at Jhalakathi Sadar Hospital.
The victim's family and locals alleged that on the night of February 15, Awami League leader Syed Hossain and his gang attacked them. The speakers demanded the immediate arrest of the attackers and exemplary punishment. Many locals including Kamal Hossain and Selim spoke at the human chain and protest. Later, the protesters calmed down after the police assured them.
OC Investigation Al Amin said the case and investigation are ongoing. He assured the protesters that accused Syed Hossain would be arrested within 24 hours.
