An elderly woman died after her saree got entangled in the wheels of an easy bike in Ujirpur, Barisal. The accident occurred in the Chatalbari area of the upazila on Saturday night, said Abdus Salam, OC of Ujirpur Model Police Station.
The deceased Suniti Mistry (70) is the wife of Sunil Mistry of Haurer Par area of the upazila. Quoting OC Abdus Salam and relatives, the elderly Suniti Mistry rode an easy bike from her home to her daughter's house in Madarshi village. When she reached Chatalbari area, the sari's hem got tangled in the wheels of the easy bike. As a result, the sari got tangled around her neck and got seriously injured. Locals rescued her and took her to the Upazila Health Complex. The doctors on duty declared the elderly woman dead. The OC said that legal action is under process in this incident. Md.
