Limon Mia, Sarishabari (Jamalpur) Representative
Lal Mia, a member of Ward No. 3, has taken charge as the panel chairman of Pogaldigha Union Parishad No. 2 in Sarishabari Upazila of Jamalpur. He formally assumed the responsibility on Wednesday (February 26).
He has been given this responsibility to keep the administrative activities of the Union Parishad normal in the absence of the current chairman. Lal Mia, who has been involved in public service for a long time, has been playing an important role in various developmental activities of the union.
Former Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad Mamunur Rashid Fakir, former Vice President of Upazila BNP Chan Mia Chanu, Director of Jamalpur Apollo Hospital Sharifuzzaman Jamali Rubel and local BNP leaders and activists were present at the ceremony. Local people also spontaneously attended and congratulated the new panel chairman.
After assuming his new duties, Lal Mia said, "I will serve the people with the utmost sincerity and sense of responsibility. I seek everyone's cooperation to work for the welfare of the union while maintaining continuity of development."
After assuming office, he visited the grave of former BNP Secretary General Barrister Abdul Salam Talukder and prayed for the forgiveness of his soul.
Meanwhile, local residents have expressed optimism that under Lal Mia's leadership, the union's service activities will become more dynamic and the amenities of the common people will increase.
It is worth noting that on February 23, Deputy Commissioner Hasina Begum issued an order, based on which Lal Mia was given the responsibility of the Union Parishad panel chairman.
