The Bankers Association of Bangladesh (BAB) and the Executive Officers and Employees Against Fascism and Discrimination have demanded the removal of Agrani Bank Board of Directors Chairman Syed Abu Naser Bakhtiar Ahmed for his stance against the July Uprising and public statements in favor of protecting Dhanmondi No. 32.
This demand was raised at a view-sharing meeting organized at the Shafiqul Kabir Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity today (March 1). Muhammad Abdullah, Member Secretary of the Bankers Association of Bangladesh, read out a written statement at the meeting, and officials and officials of various banks delivered speeches.
Muhammad Abdullah said in a written statement that the bank is currently facing a deep crisis. He alleged that the chairman of the bank is interfering in the management of the bank with an autocratic attitude. He is referred to as the new autocrat in the banking sector after the fall of the dictatorship. The speakers also said that the chairman's statement is inconsistent with the ethics and professionalism of the bank and could be harmful to the bank.
In addition, the statement said that it was extremely surprising and outrageous to seek justice for the great heroes of the July Uprising and to make statements as representatives of that civil society.
