The 13th National Parliament election will be held in December this year or March 2026, said Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the chief advisor. However, he said that all decisions will depend on the consensus of the political parties.
He made this announcement at a briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in the capital on Monday (February 24).
On the issue of information advisor Nahid Islam's resignation, he said, "He has not resigned yet. Other issues, including the formation of a new political party, will be at the will of Nahid Islam. The government does not want to comment on this."
The press secretary said that the chief advisor has given instructions to implement e-filing in all government offices. Shafiqul Alam said that chief advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus gave instructions to introduce the e-filing system in all government institutions in a meeting of the advisory council today.
The press secretary also said that it has been decided to have third-party people evaluate all projects.
