Ahead of the upcoming 11th National Parliament elections, the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced the names of party candidates for five parliamentary constituencies in Sunamganj district of Sylhet division.
Jamaat's Central Assistant Secretary General and Sylhet Regional Director Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair confirmed this information to this reporter on Saturday.
Earlier, on Thursday night, he officially announced the names of the party candidates for five constituencies in Sunamganj.
The party's nominated candidates for the five parliamentary constituencies in Sunamganj district are:
224- Sunamganj-1 constituency (Tahirpur-Jamalganj-Dharmapasha-Madhyanagar) Vice-Principal Maulana Tofail Ahmed Khan (District Ameer, Sunamganj.)
225-Sunamganj-2 constituency (Dirai-Shalla): Advocate Muhammad Shishir Monir (Lawyer, Appellate Division, Bangladesh Supreme Court)
226-Sunamganj-3 constituency (Jagannathpur-Shantiganj): Advocate Yasin Khan (Lawyer, APP, Judge Court, Sylhet)
227-Sunamganj-4 constituency (Sunamganj Sadar-Bishambarpur): Advocate Muhammad Shamsuddin. (District Nayeb-e-Amir, Lawyer, Judge Court, Sunamganj)
228-Sunamganj-5 constituency (Chhatak-Doarabazar): Maulana Abdus Salam Al Madani (retired principal, Gobindanagar Fazil Madrasa).
