Jagannath University branch's Islamic Student Movement has submitted a memorandum to the Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University with a 5-point demand. Today, February 9 (Sunday), the Islamic Student Movement of Jagannath University has submitted a memorandum to the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University, Professor Dr. Rezaul Karim Sir, demanding correction of discriminatory decisions and taking fair administrative measures.
Jagannath University branch president Abdul Wahid, vice-president Mofachhel Hossain Saikat and other leaders of the Islamic Students' Movement were present at the time.
Demands mentioned in the memorandum
1. Abolish discriminatory pet quotas: The existing discriminatory pet quotas in the admission notice for the 2023-24 academic year must be abolished immediately.
2. Expulsion of those involved in violence: Students associated with the banned student organization Chhatra League or involved in violence during the July Movement should be permanently expelled.
3. Administrative action against teachers who are collaborators with fascism: Immediate administrative action must be taken against all teachers who are still working to implement the blueprint of fascism.
4. Priority in the appointment of teachers and officials: University students should be given priority in the appointment of all teachers and officials of Jagannath University.
5. Three-year development plan: A three-year plan should be adopted and presented to the students with the aim of improving the overall quality of the university.
Abdul Wahid, president of the Islamic Students' Movement, said, "We think our demands are very important and justified. We hope that the administration will implement the demands within the shortest possible time, subject to a fair investigation."
