Nahid Islam has resigned from the post of advisor to the interim government. He resigned today, Tuesday. This information was revealed by the office of the chief advisor.
Nahid Islam was serving as an advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
A new political party will be formed under the initiative of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee. This party will be led by Nahid Islam. For this reason, there have been discussions for the past few days that he will resign from the post of advisor.
The new political party is going to be launched next Friday (February 28). The student leaders who were at the forefront during the July mass uprising are coming to the top positions of the new political party. From the beginning, the National Citizens Committee and the leaders of the Student Movement Against Discrimination had no objection to the nomination of Nahid Islam as the convener of this party. There was a disagreement over who would come as the member secretary. Based on the agreement, Akhtar Hossain's name is largely final for this position. He is now the member secretary of the National Citizens Committee.
Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah may be seen as the party's main organizer and spokesperson.
