After Nahid Islam's resignation, discussions have begun on who will take charge of these two ministries, especially the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Usually, when the post of advisor falls vacant, the responsibility of those ministries is immediately assigned to the chief advisor. He is the one who distributes the portfolios to the advisors.
According to sources in the Chief Advisor's office, there is little chance of redistribution of portfolios in the Advisory Council today. However, it may happen soon. Nahid Islam said at a press conference that the cabinet will decide who will take over after me in the next cabinet meeting.
Meanwhile, a government source said that discussions are underway to appoint another government advisor, Md. Mahfuz Alam, as the advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. However, the final decision is not yet known.
