Information Advisor Nahid Islam has resigned from the Advisory Council. He signed and submitted his resignation letter at the State Guest House Jamuna on Tuesday (February 25) in the presence of Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
The Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam described the situation through a status on Tuesday evening. He said, "On this day, Nahid Islam was accompanied by his wife, parents and younger brother at the State Guest House Jamuna. Nahid, the top leader of the July Revolution, signed his resignation letter from the post of advisor and handed it over to the Chief Advisor. At this time, Professor Yunus got emotional and hugged Nahid."
Then he took a picture with Nahid and his family. Nahid's mother asked for prayers from Dr. Yunus for her son. Earlier, Nahid took a picture with all the cabinet members. They had lunch together and held a short cabinet meeting.
The press secretary further said, "When Nahid's parents were leaving Jamuna, her mother took a picture with me. It made me feel like she was an old acquaintance of mine."
Advisor Asif Mahmud also wished Nahid Islam, who resigned from the post of Information Advisor, all the best in his future journey. In a post on Facebook, he said, "Last day in the government with colleagues and fellow fighters. May your future journey be successful."
It is worth noting that the National Citizens Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement will announce a new party on February 28, said Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Committee. Nahid Islam may be seen as the convener of this new party.
