Police have arrested Shah Alam (57), the joint general secretary of the Dimla Upazila Awami League and a litigant, in Nilphamari. The arrested person was handed over to the court on Thursday (February 27) afternoon. Earlier, the police arrested him from his own Alam Plaza Market located in Sadar on Wednesday night. He is the son of the late Alhaj Mofiz Uddin of the area adjacent to the Fire Service Office in Baburhat village of Sadar Upazila and is known as a litigant in the area. Many families have been harassed and lost their lives in false cases filed by him at different times.
Confirming the truth of the incident, Dimla Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fazle Elahi said that he was arrested on 28/9/2024 and handed over to the court under case number 26.
