Nilphamari district BNP leaders inspected the progress of the 48-hour sit-in program demanding a fair share of Teesta river water and the implementation of the Teesta Mega Project. They inspected the progress of the program at Dalia Point on Saturday (February 15) afternoon.
District BNP General Secretary Zahurul Alam, District BNP Vice President Rahedul Islam Dolan, Muktar Hossain, Rahedul Islam Dolan, Principal Monowar Hossain, Joint General Secretary Golam Mostafa Ranju, Organizing Secretary Shefaul Jahangir Shepu, Domar Upazila BNP President Reazul Islam Kalu, Dimla Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Golam Rabbani and many others were present at the event.
District BNP General Secretary Zahurul Alam said, 'A 48-hour sit-in program will be held on the banks of the Teesta on February 17 and 18 at the call of the 'Tista River Protection Movement Committee' to implement the Teesta Master Plan. This program will be held simultaneously at 11 points in the Teesta basin in Rangpur division. The sit-in will be on the west side of the Teesta Barrage in the Nilphamari section.'
