A big BNP rally is going to start in Jessore Town Hall ground in a short while. As part of the central program, the rally venue has already been prepared with the tireless efforts of the district BNP party leaders and activists. Leaders and activists from different upazilas, unions and wards have started coming in groups. They are coming with different types of banners and festoons in their hands. Different areas of the city are shaking with slogans. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will address the rally as the chief guest. District BNP convener Professor Nargis Begum will preside.
District BNP convening committee member Mizanur Rahman Khan said, "This is our first rally after the country's political landscape changed on August 5. We are calling for a return to the path of democracy. Our expectation is that the people's government should come to power based on the people's verdict." District Volunteer Party convener Mustafa Amir Faisal said, "We have been fighting for the right to vote for 17 years. Today, with the successful outcome of the anti-fascist movement, we want to return to the path of democracy.
The party leaders and workers are very excited about this rally.” District Chhatra Dal Secretary Kamruzzaman Bappi said, “We have continued the movement despite the bloodshed of the previous government. This time, this rally is being held in the open air, where Chhatra Dal will be present with the maximum number of workers.” The entire Town Hall Maidan is decorated around the rally. BNP and its affiliated organizations have carried out extensive propaganda, processions and leaflets have been distributed in different parts of the city. The party hopes that this rally will add a new dimension to the mass movement and turn into a large ocean of people.
