A GD has been filed with Baufal Police Station against Maulana Muhammad Ishaq Mia, the Ameer of Patuakhali Baufal Upazila Jamaat, for spreading false propaganda on Facebook. He filed this GD on Tuesday (February 18). (GD No. 840 dated 18/2/25) In the GD, Maulana Muhammad Ishaq mentioned that Sohag Khan, son of Zahid Khan of Chandrapara village of Madanpura Union, is spreading false propaganda against him from various Facebook IDs and defaming him socially and politically.
In the GD, he further mentioned that Sohag Khan's father, brother and uncle Ismail Khan occupied the under-construction building of his other two uncles, Hemayat Khan and Shafiqul Islam, and tried to do whatever they wanted there. When a complaint was filed with the police station regarding their dispute, the OC called both the parties and tried to resolve it. But Yunus Khan Gangra disobeyed the arbitration and stole various types of property including water pumps, electricity wires, 36 bags of cement sheets and other belongings from the under-construction building of Shafiq Khan. Shafiq Khan also filed a case against them at the police station in this incident. The police also arrested the two people. Angered by this incident, Sohag Khan posted misleading posts from several Facebook IDs on February 17.
The post mentioned that the Upazila Jamaat Ameer took away the goods of the building under construction with his workers. Another Facebook ID posted that Shafiq Khan Subadhe Jamaat Ameer Ishaq Maulana had falsely accused my father and sent him to jail two days ago. In this regard, Mujahidul Islam Shahin, son of Baufal Upazila Jamaat Ameer Muhammad Ishaq Mia, Assistant Attorney General of Bangladesh High Court, said, "My father is not involved in any of the mentioned incidents. To humiliate him politically and socially, Sohag Khan is spreading misinformation on Facebook from abroad. A complaint will be filed against Sohag Khan in the embassy of the concerned country soon."
