BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said to the advisors of the interim government, "If you want to stay in the government, resign. Then come to the elections. We have no objection to forming a new party outside the government. But such activities will not be accepted from the government." He also said, "First hold national elections, then local government elections. BNP will not accept local government elections first."

He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a rally organized by Jessore District BNP at the local Town Hall Maidan on Tuesday, demanding bringing the prices of daily necessities to a bearable level, improving the deteriorating law and order situation, announcing a quick electoral roadmap, and stopping the conspiracies of fascism.
Mirza Fakhrul said that if BNP comes to power, the closed factories in Nawapara, Jessore, will be reopened and the waterlogging in Bhabadah will be permanently resolved.
He said, fascist Hasina could not succeed in breaking BNP despite many attempts. BNP is a party of the people. That is why it has been struggling against fascists for the last 17 years with the people. Its final victory was the mass uprising of August 5. The current government is talking about reforms, which Begum Khaleda Zia said in 2016. This is not a new issue. Even then, we should do as much reform as is necessary for the vote and hold early elections. We are hopeful that the Yunus government will hold early national elections.
The BNP Secretary General said that if local government elections are held first, the supporters of fascism will rise up. The people of the country will not accept this in any way.

The rally, chaired by District BNP Convener Professor Nargis Begum, was also addressed by Khulna Divisional Acting Organizing Secretary Anindya Islam Amit, Religious Affairs Co-Organizing Secretary Amlendu Das Apu, Health Affairs Co-Secretary Jahanara Siddiqui, Former Office Secretary Mofiqul Hasan Tripti, District BNP Member Secretary Saberul Haque Sabu, Krishak Dal Joint Secretary TS Ayub, Executive Committee Members Abul Hossain Azad, Firoza Bulbul Koli and Sabira Nazmul Munni, Jessore Chamber of Commerce President Mizanur Rahman Khan, Former Municipal Mayor Maruful Islam, among others. The event was moderated by District BNP Joint Convener Delwar Hossain Khokon.#
