Those who have looted the people's money and laundered it abroad will no longer have a place in Bangladesh. Shahidul Islam Babul, the central general secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Farmers' Party, said these words as the main speaker at the farmers' rally of the Bangladesh Nationalist Farmers' Party at Joybangla Bazar ground in Sadarpur upazila of Faridpur.
The rally was organized by the Charbishnapur Union Krishak Dal on February 22 (Saturday) at 4 pm as part of a 3-month-long union-level farmers' rally across the country with the aim of organizing the majority farming community in Bangladesh.
The central president of the Bangladesh Nationalist Farmers' Party, agriculturist Hasan Zafir Tuhin, was present as the chief guest at the rally.
The rally was presided over by Sadarpur Upazila Krishak Dal President Fazlur Rahman Babul, moderated by General Secretary Asad Mridha, and the central general secretary of Krishak Dal, Shahidul Islam Babul, who is the potential candidate of BNP for Faridpur-4 (Sadarpur, Bhanga, Charbhadrasan) constituency, was present as the main speaker.
Among others who spoke were Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, the central joint secretary of Bangladesh Nationalist Women's Party and daughter of former minister late Chowdhury Kamal Ibn Yusuf, Krishak Dal central vice-president and former MP candidate from Faridpur-1 constituency Khandaker Nasirul Haque, Bhanga Upazila BNP president and former BNP nominated MP candidate from Faridpur-4 constituency Khandaker Iqbal Hossain Selim, Sadarpur Upazila BNP president Kazi Badrutzaman Badu, general secretary Tariqul Islam Kabir Molya, Faridpur District Krishak Dal joint convener Munshi Zahurul Haque, and Jubo Dal leader Sikder Nazmul Hossain Raju.
A large number of leaders and activists from BNP, Krishak Dal, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and other organizations from various upazilas including Faridpur district were also present at the rally.
The main speaker at the rally, Shahidul Islam Babul, said, "In the future, those who looted the people's wealth in Sadarpur, Charbhadrasan and Bhanga areas will not be allowed to sit in power again. Those who have smuggled the country's wealth abroad and embezzled the people's money must be stopped. No more fascists will be born in Faridpur-4 constituency. I have been accused in 138 cases to overthrow the fascist Awami League, I have served jail time, I have endured police oppression, yet I will not bow my head to the fascists." He also said that in order to protect the country and the people of the country, everyone must unite under the leadership of Tariq Zia in the next national parliamentary elections and elect the candidate of the nationalist party BNP.
